June 13, 2:00 pm., McNally Robinson Booksellers in the Atrium. Russ Gourluck launches Mosaic Village (see above for book description and information).

June 13th at 7:30 PM at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, 641 St. Matthew’s Avenue. Internationally acclaimed song leader and hymn writer John Bell will hold a Big Sing. In addition to being a leader in the Iona Community of Scotland, John is an inspiring song-leader and this is a rare opportunity to attend one of his events in Winnipeg. Come and be led in a variety of songs in a variety of global styles and experience the wonder and versatility of the plain human voice expressing faith in song. Admission is by donation to cover costs and to support St. Matthew’s Maryland Ministry and Lutheran Urban Ministry. This event is sponsored by First Lutheran Church, St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, and Grain of Wheat Church Community. John Bell will be at CMU next week to teach at the Canadian School of Peacebuilding.

June 23, 8:00 pm. McNally Robinson Grant Park in the Prairie Ink Restaurant Launch of A Criminal to Remember by Michael Van Rooy. The night also features a special guest reading from Lee Lamothe, the author of many books on true crime, his most recent is The Finger’s Twist (Ravenstone Press, 2009). Free Form Jazz will be waiting in the wings.
