MANITOBA BOOK AWARDS CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS (voir ci-dessous pour le français)

Entries are now being accepted for the Manitoba Book Awards.

The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

Established in 1988, the Manitoba Book Awards celebrate Manitoba writers, publishers and books. There are 13 diverse awards categories this year. Each award will be judged by a jury of 3 writing and/or publishing professionals, 2 of whom will be from out of province. Short-lists will be released in early March. The winners will be announced at the Manitoba Book Awards gala, organized by the Manitoba Writers’ Guild, on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Centre culturel franco-manitobain (CCFM), 340, boulevard Provencher. The Manitoba Writers’ Guild and the Association of Manitoba Book Publishers are currently accepting entries which can be sent to the AMBP office (404-100 Arthur St. Winnipeg, MB R3B 1H3). Please click on Guidelines above for a list of awards, the criteria and an entry form. Forms can be down-loaded in French or English. Please note that individual criteria vary.

Nous acceptons présentement des admissions pour les Prix du livre du Manitoba.

Les soumissions seront acceptées jusqu’au mardi 15 novembre 2011. Établis en 1988, les Prix du livre du Manitoba célèbrent les écrivains, les éditeurs et les livres manitobains. Il y aura cette année 13 catégories de prix. Chaque prix sera jugé par un jury compris de 3 écrivains et/ou éditeurs professionnel, dont 2 seront d’hors province. Les finalistes seront dévoilés au début du mois de mars.

Les gagnants seront annoncés au gala des Prix du livre du Manitoba, qui sera présenté par le Manitoba Writers’ Guild, le samedi 28 avril 2012, au Centre culturel franco-manitobain (CCFM), 340 boulevard Provencher. Since the event’s inception in 1989, during which a single award (the McNally Robinson Book Award) was presented, The Manitoba Book Awards (formerly the Manitoba Writing and Publishing Awards) has grown to feature 13 categories. Nominees and winners are selected by jurors drawn from across Manitoba and Canada.

The Manitoba Writers’ Guild formed in 1981 to promote writing throughout Manitoba, and remains committed to providing personal and professional support to writers at any level in their careers, and enhancing the province’s literary community. The Association of Manitoba Book Publishers represents 14 Manitoban publishing houses, which publish over 100 books each year in English, French, and Cree. Many of these books are written by Manitoban authors or feature Manitoban stories.
